'THE DIFFERENCE YOUR GIVING MADE'
By Brenda Msungu
'I still remember, the day I received my admission letter secondary school. I was extremely excited about joining a boarding high school and could hardly wait to leave home for St. Brigids High School-Kitale. Then darkness suddenly engulfed my world - there was no money to educate me. I felt trapped in a web of poverty. I had promised myself that I would work hard and become a doctor. This dream was threatened by lack of school fees.
Somehow, I joined form one and thereafter God connected me with Edumed Trust. I passed the interview and was granted secondary school scholarship. I met Edumed board members and other partners during the students' luncheon and other interactive sessions. Their good spirits, great personalities and regular encouragement molded me into a God fearing and responsible student.
I thereafter completed High School in year 2006 attaining Grade A in K.C.S.E 2006. Edumed will forever be an important part of my life, it is the sacrifice of committed supporters that enabled me to go through High School. I am now studying Medicine in the Czech Republic and my childhood dream of becoming a doctor will soon become a reality. The day I travelled from our home in Mt. Elgon to Nairobi to board the plane to Czech Republic was a very emotional one. I thought about Edumed and the gift it gave me, a gift that has enabled me go to places I could not have imagined. I have purposed to pass on a similar gift to someone else. Please keep the faith and continue granting other needy students such worthy and valuable gifts!'
