“...In most cases we give within our social cliques, we give to people we know, people we are related to, which means we expect returns. I’m encouraged that in Edumed, supporters give to young persons with whom they have no personal relationships. There is blessing when you give to meet a need; when you meet the need of one who may never know you so as to pay you back; giving freely, not expecting a return…………..” Dr. Timothy Wachira, Vice Chancellor -Daystar University(Kenya), Guest Speaker Edumed annual fundraising dinner 2009
“..It has been a great honour to lead a team such as this. I do believe Edumed has the best Board Members in our country and beyond. Support them fully. They are committed to the task of changing the lives of the youth. As I move to serve in a different country, I am certain I have left Edumed in good, trusted and able hands. God bless you all.” Rev. Martin Mbandu, Immediate former Chairman of Edumed Trust. Farewell message during Edumed annual fundraising dinner 2009
“I applaud Edumed for helping meet the financial needs of many students; I would also encourage you to focus on mentoring their character. I believe in the power of knowledge, Given a chance to walk back into my past, I would not only spend money on students but also time, offering guidance and helping meet spiritual needs. Let us do what we can.” Mrs. Lydia Koros, C.E.O FAULU-Kenya, Guest Speaker Edumed annual fundraising dinner 2008
“…….Affording this and that are simple, small things that we so often take for granted” “However, if we realize that what we under-estimate can save someone else's life, then we can change our attitude and support worthy causes.” Major General Njuki Mwaniki, Guest Speaker, Edumed golf tournament dinner 2008
“….Think back at what the following names have in common; Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Father D’Agostino of Nyumbani Children’s Homes, Dr. Griffins of Starehe Boys? These, and many more, have one thing in common- they have left a lasting legacy. Their names are written indelibly in the hearts of humanity; they have imprinted their names in immortality. How did they do this? The one thing they have in common is that they contributed to their community in a manner far greater than themselves; they served others and they gave, not much in terms of money, but of their talents, time and abilities. You too can make a difference in your own setting. Join me in exploring the timeless principle of “contribution and giving” that is fully entrenched in all religions and communities of the world….” Eric Kimani, Guest Speaker Edumed annual fundraising dinner 2007
